I have not recieved a single order since I've been strande -- brought, ever so thoughtfully, to this...quaint, boring place.
[Lauren's voice sounds very, very strained.]
Who am I to question the decisions of our all-knowing Smiling God? I'm fine! I'm delighted! There is nothing wrong! There is never anything wrong!
But what on earth do any of you do here? What is the goal? To whom are we employed to, to what greater purpose? There has to be SOMETHING!
Surely, surely I wouldn't be sent here to do...nothing! That's just out of the question. That would be entirely unproductive! And absolutely NOT what is to be expected of a vice president! I must set an EXAMPLE.
I have been here for months. I have been told nothing. I am fine.
This is part of a plan. Yes. Patience! Patience is a virtue! Obedience is a virtue. We all must remember this! Everything is, and always has and will be, perfectly fine.
[She sounds more like she's trying to convince herself of this than anything this.]
...on another note, I have listened to the local radio station, and I am simply appalled by the lack of proper radio etiquette! Lackluster a place this may be, yes, but everyone, great and small, should be entitled to quality radio programming! As program director and co-host for Great Desert Bluffs Metropolitan Area Community Radio, this isn't something I can simply overlook! No, sir.
To whom should I be issuing a complaint? The local authorities have been...remarkable unhelpful!

Some people collect badges. Some people try to breed the perfect pokemon. I just do freelance photography.
[voice]
Perfect Pokemon, though...she likes the sound of that.]
There is more to training these creatures than indiscriminate fighting and firm discipline?

As the vice president of StrexCorp, I must do my best to set a good example for the other employees at our wonderful company!
Which means that I will follow orders. [More or less.]

So if your god told you to go jump off a building, you would?

It's not that boring. Maybe you should explore a bit more--see what all this place has to offer.
voice
There's nothing to do here BUT explore! Wander aimlessly from town to down with these wretched mongrels for company.
I, for one, am sick of it!

[Not counting the local llama-god, of course.]

[Lauren sounds unimpressed.]
Do tell, then. What sort of "Gods" do you claim to have seen? I'm VERY interested.

...but then he steps back, gives this a quick evaluation, and figures that other people are probably going to be giving the same arguments.
Or at the very least, arguments against a Smiling God, which is still all fine by him.
So instead of any sort of eloquent response, he just turns on the voice function, enables anon, and blows a raspberry into the Gear.]

Lauren isn't even going to grace that with a response. She'll find a way to see who's behind that anonymous mask, you'll see.]

Well...sometimes....you just got to think for yourself.
voice
I thought for myself and for the benefit of the company. How do my own needs serve a greater good? What can I do to reach my full productive potential? What is the meaning of my individual experience and how does this make me a better employee?
It's all very complicated, you see.

...but what, precisely, do you mean by that?
